CANWHarriet was approached by CANW to raise the profile of the charity and to develop fundraising. She utilised the 120-year history of the organisation as Blackburn Orphanage to gain Heritage Lottery funding to create a high profile project which re-opened the doors to new audiences and connected again with the community. Using the buried treasure of founding philanthropist, James Dixon she was able to use an untapped archive to develop a new narrative, a programme of awareness raising and fundraising events, attract new patrons (author, Josephine Cox and actress, Wendi Peters). The activity also attracted corporate partners and high net donors and secured a regional BBC documentary, local, regional and national media coverage.
